Transports
Mobility represent one of the most important needs of humans. Daily work in countries with elevated level of development is based on their capability to reach places different form their living houses. Moreover, elevated standard of life also demand for increasing travelling for leisure. Similarly, the globalization of the economy is requiring an increasing level of movements of raw materials, goods and manufacts of different types. Food, fuel and high technological devices are moved all over the world to sustain elevated standards of life.
Railways, airlines, highways have developed very high levels of standards both for quality of service and security issues, however they often exhibit some deficit in interdependencies' security. The role of authorities is very relevant to insure the highest level of security and efficiency in human mobility. Similarly, hybrid transports (employing different means and infrastructures) need a further level of integration.
Progresses in the management of security of both the single infrastructure (or its components) or in the systemic behaviour of complex entities such as ports, cities, countries of even continents will be presented in this session.
